The Mental Health Lesson My Son Shared with me…

Running Toward Your Goals:

My son and I had been working out together, in particular, running in the neighborhood. Each evening, I attempted to run a further distance. I was finally attempting to complete the longest distance yet. He could see my struggle as he waited at the finish line. He would loudly cheer me on with his encouraging words. I could hear him but couldn’t see him because I was looking down. I would only look up to see how much further I had to go. Then, I realized when I had my head up I ran easier and faster. I had my eye on the prize. I was focused on my goal. This was such a powerful lesson for me. When we run with our head down we are not able to stay encouraged and keep our faster momentum. Don’t allow the stumbling blocks on your journey to get you down and slow you down! Run with your head up!
